LINK-LIST RULES:
1) Use only: Row Style = "Stnd. Links".
2) Choose one:
(A) 1-Line method: All links use 1 line, the website title field.
(B) Multi-Line method: Fill in as much as you want, but "Description" and
"Web Site" are mandatory. If you're linking to documents, use this method.
3) Try to avoid using "Footnotes."

EXAMPLES: A 1-Liner and 3 Multi-Liners

| | |
External Document #2
Web Site #2 Description for External Document #2, hosted by Web Site #2. A footnote can be used if necessary to shorten the description. But try to avoid this.

1-Line Type Link List:
Typically used for a quick list of links to web sites (not documents) that need no description. Try to avoid filling in any other fields, including Description, for any of the links in a 1-Line Link List. If you want to fill in one or more of the Description fields, try to fill in all Descriptions and instead follow the Multi-Line Link List format.
|
|
| |
Multi-Line Type Link List:
Multi-line Link List rows typically will include a Web Site Link and a Description. Do NOT use date, author, or the footnote field. You may link to a library or external document from a Full Standard Link List, as is done in (3) below.
|
|
| |
Standard Link List - Full, with a Document Link:
A Standard Link List row may include a link to a document* -- either a link to a library document or a link to an external document. Whenever possible, a web site link should also be included, and will typically link to the home page of the site that published/hosted the document in question. Do NOT use the Author, Date, or Footnote fields. If you wish to credit the author/source of the document, use either the Web Site Title and/or Description field. Any of the following are acceptable examples including document links, all of which may be mixed in with Standard Link List rows linking that only link to web sites.
* A document in this case can be any article, essay, table, or image, and can be in any format, including pdf, doc, gif, jpg, or a standard web page (html).

Link List Category Heading
For the time being, if you want to group certain links together, either on a Short or Full Standard Link List, use a text row to display a heading formatted in the following manner:
[=B General=B]
You can certainly use your own category headings, but some other commonly used category headings include Analysis, Statistics, and Other. You do not have to group links into categories, but if you do, make sure all links fall under a category.
